Alake Aide Resigns For Reps Race
Segun Tomori has stepped down as Special Assistant on Media to Dele Alake and declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives.
He is seeking to represent Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II in Lagos State under the All Progressives Congress.
He said the decision followed years of political involvement and a desire to contribute more directly to governance.
His interest in politics, he noted, dates back to the events surrounding the June 12 1993 presidential election, which shaped his commitment to public service.
Tomori added that his experience across both the legislative and executive arms has prepared him for the role.
He said his campaign will focus on service, excellence and trust, with plans to improve welfare, education, youth development and community support within the constituency.
His resignation comes as political activity builds ahead of the 2027 elections, following a directive by Bola Tinubu requiring appointees seeking elective positions to step down.
The move has seen several officials leave office to pursue political ambitions.
