Anambra Cuts Salaries Over Sit At Home
The Anambra State Government has slashed the February salaries of workers who failed to report for duty on Mondays previously observed as sit-at-home days.
The affected days were linked to directives earlier issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra.
However, the state government has repeatedly warned public servants to ignore such orders and resume normal work schedules.
Officials said the salary deductions were enforced as part of efforts to restore full compliance with official working days and strengthen discipline in the civil service.
The government maintained that all workers are expected to carry out their duties without interruption, stressing that public service operations must continue despite past disruptions.
