APC Defends Tinubu Economic Reforms
The All Progressives Congress has defended the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu, saying the reforms are aimed at reversing long-standing distortions in Nigeria’s economy.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the measures introduced by the Tinubu administration were necessary to pull the country out of economic stagnation.
Morka argued that the fuel subsidy and foreign exchange regimes that existed before May 29, 2023 had become a serious threat to Nigeria’s economic survival.
According to him, the policies drained public resources and created major imbalances in the economy.
He said the current administration’s reforms are designed to correct those structural problems and place the economy on a more sustainable path.
The APC added that while the changes may involve short-term difficulties, they are intended to stabilise the economy and support long-term growth.
