APC Removes Uzodimma From Convention
The All Progressives Congress has changed the leadership of its committee in charge of the 2026 national convention, naming former Katsina State governor Aminu Bello Masari as chairman.
The decision marks a shift in the party’s preparation ahead of the convention.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who was earlier announced as chairman, has been reassigned to the position of treasurer.
The party said the adjustment was part of a broader review of the committee’s structure.
Alongside the leadership change, the APC increased the size of the committee from 73 to 90 members.
The expansion was meant to create room for more party figures and ensure wider representation.
New additions include Senator Barry Mpigi and other senior members of the ruling party. The APC said the changes were made to reflect zoning needs and strategic planning as the convention approaches.
