The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop frequenting nightclubs and prioritise state governance.
In a statement by APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, the party accused Adeleke of neglecting his responsibilities by spending time partying across various Southwestern states instead of addressing critical issues at home.
The APC criticised the governor for ignoring the challenges faced by students in state-owned tertiary institutions, especially the high and unjustified school fees.
“While Governor Adeleke should be focusing on resolving the hardships faced by students and citizens, he has been seen hopping from one nightclub to another, squandering funds that should support education and other vital sectors,” the statement said.
The party also mocked Adeleke’s recent public dancing in Ibadan, calling it inappropriate and likening it to neglecting serious problems.
Responding, Governor Adeleke dismissed the APC’s claims, describing them as baseless attacks amid the party’s dwindling popularity.
Through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke highlighted his administration’s prudent management of state resources to improve health, infrastructure, education, business, sports, agriculture, technology, workers’ welfare, and pensions.
He called the APC’s statement “a malicious lie” and an attempt to undermine the government’s widely recognised achievements.
