Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appointed his elder brother, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, as the Emir of the newly established Duguri Emirate.
The Secretary to the State Government, Aminu Hammayo, presented the appointment letter on behalf of the governor during a ceremony held on Friday at the Duguri Emir’s Palace in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
During the event, Hammayo called on the new emir to support government initiatives and contribute to the state’s overall progress and development.
In his response, Emir Adamu Mohammed expressed gratitude to the governor for the honour and offered prayers for God’s blessings upon him.
He also pledged to remain committed and loyal to both the Bauchi State Government and the Bauchi Emirate Council.
In another development, the Secretary to the State Government also presented an appointment letter to Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan, who was appointed as the new Emir of Bununu Emirate.
Hammayo urged the newly appointed traditional ruler to foster peace, unity, and respect for the law among all communities within his jurisdiction.
Emir Jibrin D. Hassan expressed appreciation to the governor and vowed not to disappoint either the government or the people.
It was previously reported that Governor Bala Mohammed had enacted a law creating 13 new emirates across Bauchi State.
