Video from Ejiba in Yagba West, Kogi State, has revealed the chaotic scene left behind after armed men stormed a Cherubim and Seraphim church during Sunday service on November 30, 2025. The recording moves through the ransacked hall, showing scattered shoes, open Bibles and belongings left behind as worshippers fled.

The attackers seized the pastor popularly known as Orlando, his wife, and several congregants whose exact number is still unclear. The incident has unsettled the community and deepened concerns about the steady rise in violent attacks across Kogi.

In the footage, the person filming describes what unfolded, saying: “I hid myself; this is the church where they abducted people. You are seeing where they kidnapped people at Ejiba. Please, save us. Baba Orlando, who is the head of this church, was abducted. You can see the inside. They didn’t bother to put off the speaker or anything.”

The Ejiba abduction follows a similar attack earlier in the month in Eruku, Kwara State. On November 18, gunmen burst into Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun, during a service, fired shots to create panic, killed at least five worshippers and abducted 38 others, including children, elderly members, and mostly women.

A later list of victims showed that 30 of those taken in Eruku were women aged between seven and sixty-four. Rumours initially indicated ransom demands of about ₦100 million per person before the figure was reportedly reduced to around ₦20 million.

After days of tension, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq announced on November 23 that all abducted worshippers had regained their freedom. Their release was linked to coordinated operations by the police, DSS and the National Intelligence Agency.
