Chocolate City Music has accused rapper Odumodublvck of assaulting one of its staff members backstage during Monday’s Rhythm Unplugged concert in Lagos.

In an Instagram statement, the label said the attack marks a serious escalation in the ongoing feud between Odumodublvck and Chocolate City artist Emeka Akumafule, popularly known as Blaqbonez.

The statement alleged that Mr Feyi Ajayi, a staff member, was backstage with another artist when Odumodublvck allegedly approached him, threatened the label’s leadership, and headbutted him without provocation. Eyewitnesses added that when a bodyguard intervened, Odumodublvck and his team reportedly poured drinks on Mr Ajayi while shouting abusive language at Chocolate City executives.

Chocolate City confirmed that Mr Ajayi was hospitalised and is receiving medical care for injuries sustained during the incident.

The label said the attack is part of a pattern of harassment linked to the rivalry between Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez. It cited prior incidents, including a confrontation at Landmark Beach in December 2024, disputes in Uyo, and altercations at a fashion show in England in 2025, as well as ongoing online harassment targeting Blaqbonez, his manager Morin Oluwatobi, and executive Osagie Onobun.

The company also alleged that Odumodublvck sent over 100 threatening messages to Blaqbonez and other label members, some directed at family and colleagues in the music industry.

“Rap rivalries are part of hip-hop, but physical assault, stalking, spitting on women, threats with weapons, and intimidation are not acceptable,” the label said.

Chocolate City stated it has reported the incident to authorities and will take all necessary legal measures to protect its staff, artists, and executives. The company also urged event organisers and stakeholders to improve security at live shows and to take a firm stance against violence.

Odumodublvck’s team was not immediately available for comment.

The feud between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck began in June 2025, after Blaqbonez released the diss track Who’s Really Rapping, which Odumodublvck interpreted as a personal attack, sparking a heated online exchange between the two artists.
