Morocco continued their impressive run at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations by eliminating Cameroon 2–0 in Friday’s quarterfinal encounter at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The hosts took the lead midway through the first half when Brahim Diaz found the net in the 26th minute. Cameroon pushed for an equaliser after the break but struggled to break down Morocco’s defence, and their hopes were effectively ended when Ismael Saibari struck in the 74th minute.
Morocco had reached the quarterfinal stage after edging Tanzania 1–0 in the Round of 16. They finished top of Group A with seven points, a campaign highlighted by a commanding 3–0 victory over Zambia in their final group match.
Cameroon booked their place in the last eight with a narrow 2–1 win over South Africa. The Indomitable Lions ended the group phase second in Group F on seven points, following victories against Gabon and Mozambique and a 1–1 draw with Côte d’Ivoire.
