Court Grants ICPC Fresh Detention Order
A court has approved a request by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to keep former Kaduna State governor Nasir el Rufai in custody for an additional 14 days.
The order allows investigators more time to continue their probe while the case progresses.
The ruling followed an application filed by the anti corruption agency which asked the court for extra days to conclude ongoing investigations linked to the matter involving the former governor.
Officials of the commission argued that the additional detention period was necessary to complete key aspects of the inquiry and gather more evidence before deciding the next legal step.
With the new order in place, el Rufai will remain in the custody of the anti graft agency as the investigation continues and authorities work toward determining possible charges.
