EFCC Moves To Block Ajudua Bail
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has taken its battle to the Supreme Court in a bid to overturn the bail granted to Lagos socialite Fred Ajudua.
The agency is asking the apex court to cancel the decision earlier handed down in his favour.
In documents dated February 20 and filed in Abuja, the commission is contesting the January 30, 2026 ruling of the Court of Appeal in Lagos, which approved Ajudua’s release on bail.
The anti-graft body insists the decision was flawed.
Through its lawyer, S.K. Atteh, the EFCC argued that the appellate court made a legal mistake when it threw out the prosecution’s preliminary objection before granting bail to the defendant.
The move sets the stage for another round of legal arguments at the highest court, as the commission seeks to keep Ajudua in custody while his case continues.
