A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hakeem Jamiu, has denied claims that he endorsed Boluwatife Fayose as the consensus candidate for the Irepodun-Ifelodun Constituency II assembly seat.

The lawmaker representing the constituency said the report suggesting he backed the move was false and did not reflect his position.

He maintained that no such agreement or endorsement had been reached regarding the seat.

Boluwatife Fayose is the son of former Ayodele Fayose, who once served as governor of Ekiti State.

Reports circulating earlier had suggested that party stakeholders had agreed on his emergence as the consensus candidate.

Jamiu dismissed the claims and insisted that any decision on the constituency’s ticket must follow due political process rather than being imposed through alleged endorsements.
