El Rufai Drags ICPC To Court
Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State, has taken the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to court over what he described as an unlawful invasion of his Abuja home.
The case was filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/345/2026, challenges the legality of a search carried out at his residence.
El-Rufai’s legal team, led by Oluwole Iyamu, is asking the court to set aside the search warrant used by the anti-graft agency.
The warrant was reportedly issued by a magistrate court in the Federal Capital Territory on February 4.
It authorised officers to enter the property and seize materials believed to be linked to an investigation.
El-Rufai argues that the order was improperly obtained and should be declared void.
The court is expected to determine whether the search followed due process under the law.
