FG Declears Dates For Easter Celebration
The Federal Government has announced Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Easter celebration.
The declaration applies across the country, giving Nigerians time to observe the religious period.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
The government extended greetings to Christians in Nigeria and abroad.
During the announcement, citizens were encouraged to reflect the values linked with the season, including kindness, forgiveness, patience, and love, as seen in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The message called for unity and peaceful coexistence.
The government also restated its aim to drive national renewal and economic progress while working towards improved living conditions for Nigerians.
