Gospel Singer And Crew Members Found Dead In Lagos
Four people, including a popular gospel singer, were found dead inside a music studio in the Abraham Adesanya area of Ajah, Lagos, prompting a police investigation.
The victims were discovered on Wednesday, February 4, inside a studio located within the HFP Shopping Complex.
Those who died were identified as gospel artiste Matthew Ogundele, Joseph Sanya, Itunu Ogundele, and a blogger known as Matthew Awosanya, also called JoesTv.
They had taken part in a three-day birthday praise programme organised by fellow gospel singer Olanireti Akinbola and reportedly remained at the studio after performing the previous night.
The studio owner, Akintayo Akinbola, who is married to the celebrant, said he left them there on Tuesday night after buying food as they prepared for another music concert.
When he returned around 11:00 am the next day, he found the door locked from the inside and raised an alarm before it was forced open.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and documented the discovery.
A preliminary check showed no visible injuries or signs of violence on the bodies, which have since been moved as investigations continue to determine the cause of death.
