Adamawa Governor bought 23 Jeeps to strengthen the judiciary.
Jigawa Governor, Umar Namadi reportedly splashed ₦1.8bn on 4 luxury vehicles for his convoy and ordered 12 more SUV’s, 2 for his wives, others for convoy, while the state suffers from poverty and malnutrition.
In 2024, SaharaReporters reported that the state despite having about a million out of school kids, spent ₦1.5bn to build Mosques. ₦1bn on new Mosques, ₦500m on renovating old mosques.
PDP condemned it, describing it as “Reckless Extravaganza”.
Because in 2024, they acquired high-end luxury vehicles, including Lexus SUVs, Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs, and a Maybach Mercedes-Benz.
APC debunked, said it is misleading.
Claimed it’s all distractions from opposition, as Gov. Namadi is still using the vehicles he inherited from his predecessor. That the new vehicles parked in the government house are not new vehicles :/
While this was hot, Governor Umar Fintiri of Adamawa announced a gift of 23 SUV’s to the State’s judiciary. In order to “strengthen justice” in the state.
This week, US Embassy subtly scolded Nigerian leaders for spending on frivolities loke luxury mansions etc.
So, Nigerians are understandably upset at the lack of empathy from it’s leaders.
