So he called for a comprehensive overhaul of the award and honoring system. Asking they be given to productive entrepreneurs, to incentivize innovation.
This comes after Pres. Tinubu confirmed GCON on Godswill Akpabio in 2024, and last month conferred CON, CFR, OON to 66 other politicians, including Wole Soyinka who was named GCON.
But Obi only mentioned GCFR and GCON. So opposition influencers are wondering how he expects a grand honor like GCFR to be given to businessmen, like Obi Cubana, Aliko Dangote etc.

Infact, late Queen Elizabeth is a GCFR (1989), Muammar Gaddafi is a GCFR (1997), Nelson Mandela GCFR (1990). Obafemi Awolowo (1980) GCFR.
According to the logic in motion, Nelson Mandela could give Marching orders to the Nigerian Army.
For context, Aliko Dangote and Senator Godwill Akpabio are both GCON.
