In a livestream following the incident, the Grammy-winning artist defended his actions, saying:
“I no tell una to be my fans. We dey look for fans wey get money this period oh. Ara n Kan Gaza.”
The situation unfolded at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre when Burna Boy noticed the couple dozing off in the front row. He paused his performance and told them to leave before continuing the show. The couple eventually complied, sparking reactions from other attendees.
