The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, begin the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and conduct a mock accreditation exercise in Anambra State ahead of the upcoming governorship election.
This was disclosed in a statement released in Abuja by the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs Victoria Eta-Messi. According to the statement, the PVC distribution will take place from October 22 to 26 for voters who registered during the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
Eta-Messi urged all eligible voters to go to their designated registration areas to collect their PVCs, stressing that the collection must be done personally. She reaffirmed that no one would be allowed to collect PVCs on behalf of another person.
“All registered voters are urged to ensure they collect their PVCs within the specified period to be eligible to vote in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra,” Eta-Messi said.
The INEC official also announced that the mock accreditation exercise would be held on Saturday, October 25, across selected polling units in the three senatorial districts of the state.
She stated that the purpose of the mock accreditation was to test the performance of the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), evaluate its response time, and confirm the seamless uploading of results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) before the main election.
Eta-Messi provided a list of the polling units chosen for the mock exercise. In Anambra Central, the locations include Amawbia II (03), Igwédimma Primary School I & II (006, 007), Idemili North Nkpor II (06), and Ububa Village Square (035) in Awka South Local Government Area.
