Kano Governor Returns to APC
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, is set to formally rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, following his resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) last Friday.
The move comes as Yusuf cited governance realities, national cohesion, and development as key reasons for returning to the party he first joined in 2014.
Before leaving the APC, Yusuf had won the party’s primary for the Kano Central Senatorial seat but later stepped aside for Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. His re-registration is expected to strengthen collaboration with the Federal Government and accelerate projects across Kano State.
The formal registration will include 22 members of the Kano State House of Assembly, eight members of the House of Representatives, and all 44 local government chairmen.
The governor is also scheduled to launch the APC electronic registration exercise in Kano on the same day.
Party officials confirmed that arrangements for Yusuf’s return were coordinated under the direction of APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda to ensure a smooth registration for the governor and his supporters.
