Kwara Poly Students Raise Alarm To FG Over NYSC Camp
The Students’ Union Government of Kwara State Polytechnic has raised concern over a growing crisis at the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp in the state, calling for urgent intervention from the Federal Government and the Inspector General of Police.
The appeal was made by the student leaders after reports of unrest and safety concerns involving corps members surfaced, creating anxiety among students and parents within the polytechnic community.
The SUG said the situation requires swift attention to prevent further escalation.
According to the union, the crisis affects not only corps members but also students posted to the camp, with fears that poor handling of the situation could lead to wider security issues in the area. The leadership stressed that the welfare of young Nigerians must remain a priority.
The student body explained that it decided to speak out after exhausting internal channels, noting that the matter had reached a point where national authorities needed to step in to restore calm and confidence at the camp.
The SUG urged security agencies and relevant authorities to act quickly, saying timely intervention would help protect lives, stabilise the camp environment and reassure families across the state.
