Makinde Pushes For Consensus Plan
Governor Seyi Makinde has said the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State will adopt a consensus approach to select candidates for upcoming elections.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting, Makinde explained that the move is aimed at reducing internal disputes and strengthening unity within the party.
He also announced that first-term elected officials, including members of the National Assembly and State House of Assembly, will be granted automatic return tickets, allowing them to seek re-election without internal opposition.
The governor reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP amid ongoing political realignments, noting that the decisions were reached after consultations with party leaders to maintain stability ahead of future contests.
