Former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has confirmed that his recent interrogation session with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ended positively, and he has been released pending another meeting.
In a statement posted on his X account early Saturday, Malami expressed gratitude for divine intervention and assured the public that the truth behind the “fabricated allegations” against him would soon emerge.
He wrote, “In line with my promise to keep Nigerians informed about my EFCC invitation, I give glory to Allah for His divine intervention. The engagement was successful, and I have been released, with a further session scheduled, as the truth about these false accusations continues to unfold.”
Malami was summoned by the EFCC over alleged misconduct during his time in office.
Before his appearance, he had affirmed his willingness to cooperate fully with the commission as part of his dedication to transparency and responsible leadership.
“I am informing my family and friends that EFCC has invited me to clarify certain matters, and as a law-abiding citizen and patriot, I am ready to honour the summons without hesitation,” he stated.
He added that honesty, integrity, and accountability remain values he has championed throughout his public service career.
“Therefore, I will keep Nigerians updated on any developments so that everyone is aware of what comes next,” Malami concluded in his earlier message.
