Maria Sol Messi, the sister of football icon Lionel Messi, has postponed her wedding after being involved in a serious car accident in Miami.
Reports say the 32-year-old sustained multiple injuries, including spinal fractures, burns, and fractures to her heel and wrist. Argentine TV host Angel de Brito revealed that Messi’s mother confirmed Maria Sol is no longer in danger but will need an extended period of rehabilitation.
The accident has forced her to cancel her planned wedding to Julian “Tuli” Arellano, a member of Inter Miami’s under-19 coaching staff. The ceremony was scheduled for January 3 in Rosario, Argentina, and was expected to be attended by the entire Messi family, including Lionel Messi.
De Brito explained that the injuries were severe, noting that burns are particularly difficult to treat and that Maria Sol also suffered displaced vertebrae. She has since begun rehabilitation in Rosario after reportedly fainting and hitting a wall during the incident.
Despite the setback, Maria Sol is said to be recovering steadily. She is known as a successful designer and entrepreneur, having collaborated on some of her brother’s projects while also building her own brand away from the public spotlight.
