The funding targets vocational skills such as hairdressing, makeup artistry, grinding machines, and transportation resources like motorcycles and mini-vans, alongside anti-drug awareness campaigns.
Funds will be distributed across the country’s regions to benefit women, youths, and retirees. In the South-South, N35 million is set aside to provide grinding machines to women in Ndokwa/Ukwani Federal Constituency.
Plateau State is also allocated N35 million to train women in hairdressing, makeup, and soap-making in Mikang/Shandam/Quampan Federal Constituency.
In the North-East, N70 million is planned for youths and retirees in Inyamaltu/Deba, Gombe State, for skills training and trade equipment. Ebonyi State will receive N70 million for mini pick-up vans, mini shuttle buses, and motorcycles to support residents in Abakaliki Federal Constituency.
The budget includes initiatives for youth empowerment and anti-drug campaigns in North-Central areas, with projects in Zamfara State aimed at promoting awareness and resilience. These programs seek to address social challenges while boosting local economic opportunities.
Officials say the allocations are designed to foster practical skills, encourage entrepreneurship, create jobs, and strengthen community engagement. The proposals form part of the ministry’s broader plan to support socio-economic growth and reduce unemployment nationwide.
