Momodu Slams INEC Over ADC Crisis
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission over its decision to remove the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its official portal.
The move relates to the ongoing leadership dispute within the party.
The commission had earlier updated its records, citing a Court of Appeal ruling as the basis for its action.
However, the ADC rejected the decision, insisting it does not reflect the party’s recognised leadership structure.
Reacting to the development, Momodu accused INEC of bias and questioned its neutrality, pointing to how it has handled internal disputes in other political parties.
He also linked the situation to wider political tensions ahead of the 2027 elections.
He warned that the party may have to rely on the courts to resolve the dispute, describing the situation as uncertain.
The controversy has added fresh pressure to the ADC as it navigates its internal leadership crisis.
