New Battle In PDP Leadership Crisis
A fresh battle has erupted within the Peoples Democratic Party as the Kabiru Turaki-led national leadership moved to block attempts by a rival faction linked to Nyesom Wike to take over the party’s Abuja headquarters.
The dispute centres on Wadata Plaza, which has remained shut since internal clashes turned violent last year.
The Turaki group says the move by the opposing camp is unlawful because the matter is still before the courts.
Party officials confirmed that security agencies have been formally notified that the status of the secretariat is tied to ongoing cases at the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal.
According to the faction, any effort to force entry into the building while the legal process continues would amount to taking the law into one’s hands.
They insist that those pushing for access are among members expelled at the party’s last national convention and must wait for a final court decision.
The row is part of a wider leadership crisis that has split the opposition party into rival camps.
