Nollywood Actor Linked To Plot To Impeach Tinubu
A Nollywood filmmaker and actor, Stanley Amandi, has been arrested over alleged links to a plot aimed at forcefully removing President Bola Tinubu from office.
The arrest followed investigations into claims of a covert plan involving some Nigerian military officers.
The case centres on allegations that Amandi, a former chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria in Enugu State, was drawn into the plot to help spread messages meant to support the illegal move against the government.
Reports say his role was tied to publicity and messaging rather than direct military action.
The arrest reportedly took place in September 2025, but details surrounding his alleged involvement only surfaced recently after investigators concluded their work.
Security sources believe the plot targeted the current administration through unlawful means, prompting a wide ranging probe by military and civilian authorities.
Military officers connected to the case are expected to face court martial panels, while civilians linked to the plot, including Amandi, will be tried in regular courts.
