The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a stern warning to corps members about the misuse of social media for negative posts.
Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of NYSC, delivered the caution during an address to the 2025 Batch ‘C’ corps members at the Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku.
Nafiu stressed that any corps member found posting harmful content online would face disciplinary actions. He encouraged the members to instead produce content that positively represents both the NYSC and Nigeria.
He further advised corps members to avoid unauthorised travel and urged them to adhere strictly to instructions, complete their biometrics, and participate fully in Community Development Service (CDS) activities.
“Respect and learn the cultural values of your host communities and do not tarnish our image at your primary assignment locations,” he added.
Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr John Kwaghe, briefed the Director General on camp activities, reporting the deployment of 2,101 corps members—944 males and 1,157 females. He noted that the orientation camp had proceeded smoothly with full participation and commendable discipline from both officials and corps members.
