The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced it is speeding up legal action against TikTok personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a string of road accidents that have raised serious public safety concerns.
The most recent incident took place on November 1, 2025, in Sagamu, where Abiodun reportedly collided with two motorcycles, seriously injuring a rider and a female passenger. Eyewitnesses said he attempted to flee the scene but was stopped by bystanders.
In a statement on the state government’s official X account, the ministry said, “While some traffic accidents can be addressed through civil claims for compensation, certain drivers pose a real danger to society and must face criminal accountability. Mr Abiodun is one such individual.”
The ministry highlighted that at least two of Abiodun’s crashes in recent months were recorded on video, showing a pattern of reckless behavior. His return to driving just weeks after the first crash made state intervention necessary to protect the public, especially amid growing outcry over his continued driving.
DJ Chicken was also involved in another crash on November 23, 2025, in Lekki, Lagos State, narrowly avoiding pedestrians. The statement noted, “This lone-car incident almost harmed pedestrians, but for their quick reactions and sheer luck.”
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed authorities to expedite the Sagamu crash case to ensure prompt arraignment. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with law enforcement to safeguard road users.
