Ogun Police Detain TikToker Over False Rape Claim
Ogun State Police have arrested a TikTok user, Mirabel, after investigations found that her viral rape claim was fabricated.
She had alleged that an unknown man assaulted her and attacked her with a blade.
Officers said inquiries exposed gaps in her account. Neighbours reported no forced entry or cries for help, while phone logs and text messages failed to back her version of events.
Police added that she gave conflicting statements and declined to complete medical and forensic checks offered by authorities and support groups. She was later detained for giving false information and diverting police resources.
Her TikTok page has now been set to private, several posts removed, and some donors are said to be seeking refunds.
Investigations continue, with authorities warning that false claims damage real victims and will be handled firmly.
