Over $797,900 Stolen By El Rufai – ICPC
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission on Tuesday alleged that former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, unlawfully received N289 million and $797,900.
The commission said the funds were improperly pocketed during his tenure, raising questions about public accountability.
The ICPC claims investigations revealed discrepancies in financial records and transactions linked to the former governor.
The sums involved include both local currency and foreign cash, suggesting possible abuse of office for personal gain.
Authorities noted that the allegations form part of ongoing efforts to recover misappropriated public funds and hold former officials accountable.
The commission stated that legal actions and further probes are expected as the investigation continues.
The former governor has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
The ICPC urged citizens to monitor developments and support anti-corruption measures aimed at safeguarding public resources in the state.
