Oyo State All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant and Baàmèkó of Ibadanland, Oloye Saheed Oladele, has reportedly escaped an ‘assassination attempt’ while travelling back from a political engagement in Lagos.
In a statement released on Sunday, December 28, 2025, by Maroof Asudemade, the Director of Media and Publicity for the Saheed Oladele Support Foundation, it was revealed that Oladele’s convoy was attacked during the journey.
The statement further indicated that the vehicle conveying the governorship aspirant was allegedly hit by a projectile.
It also suggested that the incident might be linked to Oladele’s increasing popularity and widening acceptance among voters in Oyo State, which it stated has become a concern for individuals who previously underestimated his political relevance.
