Party Demands Resignation of INEC Chairman
The African Democratic Congress has called for the removal of Joash Amupitan following the electoral body’s decision to withdraw recognition of the party’s leadership.
The demand was made during a press briefing on Thursday amid rising tension within the party.
Speaking at the briefing, David Mark said the Independent National Electoral Commission can no longer be trusted. He described the commission’s action as unlawful and unfair to the party.
The party leadership insisted that the decision has deepened concerns about the neutrality of the electoral body.
It warned that such actions could affect confidence in the political process ahead of future elections.
The ADC maintained that it will continue to push for changes while reviewing its next steps. Further developments on the matter are expected as the situation unfolds.
