PDP Criticizes Tinubu Over Borno Bombings
The Peoples Democratic Party has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following deadly bombings in Maiduguri, which reportedly left at least 23 people dead and over 100 injured.
The party said the attacks show the government’s failure to tackle insecurity.
In a statement by its spokesman Ini Ememobong, the PDP said the incident reflects the inability of the ruling All Progressives Congress to deal with the country’s worsening security situation.
It added that insecurity has continued to spread, especially in the North-East.
The party said, “The recent multiple bombings in Maiduguri, resulting in at least 23 deaths and injuring more than 100 people, are another incontrovertible piece of evidence of the inability of the APC-led federal government to curb the growing insecurity in the country.”
It also accused the presidency of focusing more on political battles than protecting lives.
The PDP urged the government to adopt a more practical approach by working with communities and key stakeholders to address the crisis. It also expressed sympathy to victims and their families while calling for urgent action.
