PDP To Resolve Crisis After Convention
In Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, said the Peoples Democratic Party will continue reconciliation efforts after its March 29 and 30 convention.
He made this known after inspecting the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome, the venue for the event.
He stated that disagreements within the party are expected but can be managed through dialogue.
Wike said the leadership is ready to engage unhappy members and find common ground. He also dismissed legal challenges by the Tanimu Turaki group, saying they will not affect the process.
The minister explained that zoning arrangements have been concluded to ease leadership transition.
Key positions have been shared across regions, with the presidency going to the South and the chairmanship to the North. He added that the party is working to present a united front.
Wike expressed confidence in preparations for the convention, saying arrangements are nearly complete.
He noted that facilities and seating for delegates have been finalised, with about 2,500 attendees expected at the gathering.
