Phyna, winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, has lost her sister, Ruth Otabor, who died from injuries sustained in a truck accident in Edo State.
According to a statement issued by the family through Eko Solicitors & Advocates, Ruth passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at about 6:30 a.m.
She had been battling complications from an accident that occurred on August 13, when a heavy-duty truck reportedly linked to the Dangote Group crushed her leg, leading to its amputation.
The family has appealed for privacy as they mourn, adding that funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
