Plateau Gun Attack Prompts Motorcycle Ban
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has ordered strict enforcement of a ban on commercial motorcycles in Jos following a deadly attack in Angwan-Rukuba.
The Sunday raid left 28 people dead, including women, children, and students, with several others injured.
Speaking in a statewide broadcast on Tuesday, Mutfwang expressed deep sorrow and urged residents to seek solace in God while assuring that the government is taking strong measures to prevent future attacks.
He said the State Security Council has reviewed security arrangements and instructed law enforcement to enforce the motorcycle ban, with detailed guidelines to be issued by the police commissioner.
The governor praised community leaders and residents for maintaining calm and called on citizens to report any suspicious activities, stressing that security is a shared responsibility.
Mutfwang vowed that Plateau State will not bow to intimidation and reiterated the commitment to protect lives, property, and peace in the state.
