The Nigeria Basketball Federation has announced that Port Harcourt will serve as the host city for the finals of the 2025 Nigeria Men’s Premier Basketball League.
Babs Ogunade, the Vice President of the NBBF, revealed this in a statement released on Monday by the federation’s Secretary, Amina Amanchi.
He explained that the NBBF had granted and confirmed the hosting rights of the Final 8 and Final 4 to the Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club, based in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the club has committed to providing a standard venue, modern facilities, adequate security, medical services, and live online streaming of all matches.
Ogunade further stated that the club would also make arrangements for buses to convey teams and offer financial assistance as well as accommodation subsidies for participating clubs.
He disclosed that the Final 8 would take place from October 26 to November 3, with all teams expected to arrive on October 26.
The Final 4, which will feature the top four teams from the tournament, is scheduled to hold from November 20 to 23 at the same location.
The NBBF serves as the governing authority responsible for managing basketball affairs, development programmes, and competitions across Nigeria.
It oversees both domestic leagues — including the Men’s Premier League and the Women’s League — as well as the national teams, the D’Tigers (men) and D’Tigress (women).
