Promising Singer’s Death Sparks Outcry

A 25-year-old Abuja-based singer, Ifunanya Nwangene, widely known as Nanyah, has died after suffering a snakebite at her home in the early hours of the day.

The incident happened in the Federal Capital Territory, where the fast-rising artiste lived and worked.

After the bite, she reportedly rushed herself to two hospitals in search of urgent treatment.

Despite her efforts, she was unable to access anti-venom at the facilities, leaving her condition to worsen. Friends say she tried everything possible to stay alive before her death.

The situation has raised concerns as reports indicate that snakes had been seen around her residence before the incident.

No official explanation has yet been given by the police or health authorities, and it is still unclear if a formal investigation has begun.

News of her death has sparked grief and debate online, while also drawing attention to gaps in emergency medical care, including the absence of critical drugs like anti-venom in major hospitals.

Nanyah was known as a talented young voice in the local music scene, with many describing her death as a painful loss
