Protest Hits ADC Secretariat
In Abuja, members of the African Democratic Congress secretariat were confronted by protesters demanding answers over an alleged ₦100 million disbursement linked to the recent FCT election.
The demonstration was led by a group known as Advocate for Women in Governance.
The protesters gathered at the party’s national office to seek clarity on claims made weeks earlier on national television.
Speaking for the group, convener Amaka Christian said they were not making accusations but asking the party to confirm or deny the report. She stressed that the aim was transparency and accountability.
According to her, the group would decide its next move based on the response from the party leadership. The protesters insisted that a public allegation of such scale should not go unanswered.
Reacting, ADC Deputy National Publicity Secretary Queen Okiyi described the claim as a rumour and urged calm.
She said the party would respond in due course and called on members to avoid actions that could cause division.
The party maintained that it remains focused on its broader political goals while preparing an official position on the allegation.
