The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, has sparked conversations online after warning women that collecting transport fare from a man without honoring the visit is a punishable offence.
In a viral video, Iringe-Koko stated, “Why will you collect transport fare from a man without going to see him? It’s a punishable offence. It is obtaining money under false pretence — 419.”
Her remark has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many men applauding her for clarifying that such an act could lead to jail time, while others argued it was unnecessary for the police to weigh in on the matter.
“Accepting transport money from a man without seeing him in person is a pun!shable offence that could land you in ja!l.”- Rivers state PPRO.
