Schools Close After New Attack In Kwara
Suspected bandits have attacked the Oba community along Correctional Centre Road in Isanlu Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing one person and abducting another.
The incident happened on Tuesday evening, sending shockwaves through nearby towns.
The Coordinator of the Joint Security Watch for Kwara South, Elder Oyin Zubair, confirmed the attack, noting it came hours after four previously kidnapped victims regained freedom in the same area.
The earlier victims, taken in January along the Omu Aran Isanlu Isin Road, are now receiving medical care in Ilorin and Omu Aran.
Residents say calm was short lived before the latest assault occurred along the same corridor.
The renewed violence has deepened anxiety, with many families worried about further attacks.
Schools in the area have reportedly shut as a precaution, while daily activities remain disrupted.
The Kwara State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the fresh killing and abduction.
