The Senate Committee at the National Assembly has begun the screening of President Bola Tinubu’s nominee for the position of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN.
Amupitan, accompanied by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo and other notable figures, is presenting his qualifications and responding to questions from legislators as part of the Senate’s confirmation process for his appointment as the next INEC Chairman.
The nominee arrived at the Red Chamber at about 12:50 p.m. and was escorted in by the Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Senator Abubakar Lado.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio welcomed Amupitan, his family members, and other attendees before outlining the procedure for the screening session.
