Sowore Leads Rally For Kanu’s Release
There was tension in Abia State on Thursday as activist Omoyele Sowore and Emmanuel Kanu led a peaceful protest in Aba calling for the release of detained separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu.
The protesters marched through parts of the commercial city demanding that the federal government free Kanu, who is currently facing trial over charges linked to separatist agitation.
Participants carried placards and chanted slogans during the rally, urging authorities to grant him freedom and address concerns raised by supporters of the Biafra movement.
Security presence reportedly increased in parts of Aba during the demonstration as authorities monitored the situation to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
