Tinubu Sets Up Presidential Taskforce
President Bola Tinubu has approved the creation of a presidential taskforce to drive a fresh phase of reforms in Nigeria’s petroleum sector. The move is aimed at improving value, strengthening operations and shaping the next stage of changes in the industry.
The decision was announced in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy.
According to the statement, the new body will focus on designing and coordinating structural reforms intended to improve efficiency across the sector.
Fola Adeola, co-founder of Guaranty Trust Bank and founder of the Fate Foundation, has been appointed to lead the taskforce.
He will serve as chairman and guide the group’s work as it develops strategies for the planned reforms.
The taskforce is expected to review existing systems in the petroleum industry and recommend steps that could improve value and strengthen the sector’s long-term growth.
