Togo Seeks Electricity From Nigeria
The government of Togo has expressed interest in increasing electricity imports from Nigeria through the Niger Delta Power Holding Company to meet rising power demand in the country.
Officials said the move is aimed at strengthening energy supply and supporting economic activities as electricity consumption continues to grow in Togo.
The proposed arrangement would involve greater power supply from the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, which operates several generation plants across Nigeria.
Energy authorities noted that expanding electricity trade between the two countries could improve regional power stability and deepen cooperation within the West African energy market.
The development is also expected to strengthen Nigeria’s role as a key electricity supplier within the region while helping neighbouring countries address power shortages.
