Kebbi Government Confirms Abduction Of Deputy Speaker

The Kebbi State Government has confirmed the kidnapping of the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Samaila Bambu.

Confirming the incident, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, stated that he had received information about the development and was waiting for a full report from the state’s Director of Security.

He said, “Yes, I just got the information about the alleged abduction of the Deputy Speaker in his hometown this evening. I am in touch with the Director of Security in the state. Once I get the details of what transpired, I will alert you very soon on the government’s position.”

He further explained that the state government was handling the situation and taking steps to secure the legislator’s safe release.

Sources from Bagudo, the hometown of the Deputy Speaker, revealed that the attackers invaded the town on Friday evening, firing gunshots indiscriminately.

According to the sources, Bambu was kidnapped shortly after completing his evening prayers and leaving the mosque for his house.
