A staff member of Vine Crest College, Magaji Adebanjo, has issued a desperate cry for help after being kidnapped by gunmen along the Kabba axis of Kogi State.
Adebanjo, who is from Imo Arikoko in Akoko, Ondo State, was travelling from Iperu to Abuja when armed men intercepted him and took him away. His abductors have reportedly placed a N100 million ransom on his release.
A video obtained by SaharaReporters shows him bound, visibly weak and frightened, with a gun pointed at his head as he pleads for rescue. Beside him sits another kidnapped victim, battling a knee injury and unable to stand.
Speaking in tears, Adebanjo identified himself and described how he was taken, saying, “My name is Mogaiji Adebanjo. I’m from Imo Arikoko in Ondo State. I work with Vine Crest College. When I was coming from Iperu, going to Abuja, I was kidnapped along the Kabba road. They are demanding N100 million.”
He went on to beg for help, stressing the impact on his family: “Please, help me. I don’t want to die. I have a pregnant wife and a four-year-old son. Please, help me. They want N100 million. I was taken yesterday. Please, help me.”
His abduction adds to the escalating wave of kidnappings across major routes in Kogi and nearby states, where bandits continue to target travellers with increasing boldness.
