Wike is trending because the rampaging FCT Minister secretly acquired a mansion in Florida, US for $2m (₦3.2bn) using his wife and children’s names; Joaquin, Jazmyne, Jordan and Justice Eberechi Wike. — Full Payment, according to West Africa Weekly.

This is a suspected money laundering scheme.
Because the same property, a 2-storey located at 113 Spring Creek Lane, Winter Springs, Florida 32708, was initially sold for $535k in 2011.
From 2011 to 2019, its value rose to $545,856, rising by just 2% ($10,856) in 8yrs.
By 2021 it dropped to $537k.
Two years later in 2023 it rose to $650,832, a difference of $112,955 in two years (+21%)
By 2024 it rose by another $65,083, now at $715,915 (+10%)
So between 2011 and 2024, the property rose by about 33% in value. Moving at a pace of 2-3%. Except for 2023 when it jumped to +21% and 2024: +10%.
But somehow between 2024 to March 2025, it skyrocketed by +180.20% ($2M) and it was allegedly paid in full by the FCT Minister who was recently implicated in a $3.6bn Abuja land grabbing, gifting his cousins, brothers, father, friends and allies lands in Abuja.
According to reports, the guy who exposed the real estate grabbing, was arrested.
Apparently, this time in US, Wike secured the property in March 2025, through private brokers. And his wife, Justice Eberechi now happens to be a registered member of the US, Democratic Party.
While the sudden jump in property value is a red flag, it is not enough to investigate money laundering. If pressed she could be investigated for money laundering. Because she already violates laws as a Nigerian Justice.
Wike however choose to purchase this in his wife’s name, so that whenever he declares his asset, it won’t be a part of it. Interestingly, Wike’s total asset could just tower around ₦100M.
Nigerian are calling on the EFCC to investigate, which is highly unlikely, based on antecedents.
Some Nigerians are wondering, if he has this in US, then he’d likely have more in Europe and Dubai (easier rules). Meanwhile, patriotic Nigerians argued that $2M is too small for Wike.
